This course was created as a SNIPg to ensure that nurses advocate and support access to healthcare and human rights for the LGBTQ+ community.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to: 

  • Define the term Snipg
  • Describe the term ally as it relates to the LGBTQ+ community
  • Discuss current legislation within the United States impacting the LGBTQ+ community
  • Highlight the importance of the nurse’s role in caring for LGBTQ+ patients
