Roundtable: Hemodynamic Management of Patients with Sepsis

Hemodynamic monitoring and resuscitation are crucial to providing high-quality care and evidence-based management for patients with both early sepsis and late septic shock. In this peer-to-peer roundtable discussion, clinicians from critical access hospitals as well as larger academic centers will discuss their organizations’ current invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic management protocols. Panelists will share what has worked at their institutions, where they still struggle, what types of continuing education have helped to ensure clinical competency, and how to garner buy-in and engagement across disciplines and departments. 

At the end of the activity, the learner should be able to:

• Differentiate invasive from non-invasive hemodynamic sepsis management;
• Review hemodynamic monitoring and resuscitation protocols/resources to ensure best care for patients with sepsis and septic shock;
• Identify strategies for evaluating current hemodynamic sepsis management protocols within their own institution.
